Walking With God

Long ago, the Old Testament prophet Amos asked, Can two walk together except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3). The obvious answer is no . For two to walk together, they must meet and travel in the same direction.

If we wish to walk with God, that is, have fellowship with Him, we must agree with God by acquiescing to His will. God s way is the right way and a holy way; it leads to peace and eternal life (Psalms 23; Matt. 7:13). We can walk with God no other way.

We can understand the will of the Lord (Ephesians 5:17); His commandments are not grievous (1John 5:3). To begin your walk with God, believe in Jesus as Lord and Christ (John 8:24), repent of your sins (Acts 17:30), confess Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9,10), and be baptized in the name of the Lord for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). To continue your walk with God, walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).

If we walk in the light as God is in the light, we have fellowship with Him. If we walk in darkness and say we have fellowship with Him, we lie (1John 1:5,6).
