How do I deal with suffering when it comes?

Job’s Attitude: Job 1:21-22; 2:10

1. Job teaches us that suffering loss but remaining righteous is possible.

2. Job gives us an example of how to suffer loss but remain righteous.

How Does Job Teach Us to Deal with Suffering?

1. Turn to God, and don’t give up on Him (Job 7:20; 9:32-35; 10:1-22; 13:3, 20-28; 16:20-21; 23:1-7).

2. Remind yourself of the things you KNOW God to be, and hold fast to them (Job 1:21; 2:10; 13:15; 16:15-21 (v19); 17:9; 19:25-29; 21:16; 21:22; 23:6-12; 26:5-14; 27:7-10; 28:23-28; 31:26-28).

3. Remember what is really important, and value those things (Job 28:1-28; 31:1-40).

4. Trust in God (not people) for strength (Job 6:14-30; 12:1-6; 13:1-19; 16:1-5; 19:21-29).

5. Keep a spiritual, eternal perspective (Job 19:25-27; 23:10-12; 31:1-40).
