How Does Job Teach Us to Deal with Suffering?
1. Turn to God, and don’t give up on Him (Job 7:20; 9:32-35; 10:1-22; 13:3, 20-28; 16:20-21; 23:1-7).
2. Remind yourself of the things you KNOW God to be, and hold fast to them (Job 1:21; 2:10; 13:15; 16:15-21 (v19); 17:9; 19:25-29; 21:16; 21:22; 23:6-12; 26:5-14; 27:7-10; 28:23-28; 31:26-28).
3. Remember what is really important, and value those things (Job 28:1-28; 31:1-40).
4. Trust in God (not people) for strength (Job 6:14-30; 12:1-6; 13:1-19; 16:1-5; 19:21-29).
5. Keep a spiritual, eternal perspective (Job 19:25-27; 23:10-12; 31:1-40).
